A third-generation jeweler who once left the trade for a stint as a marlin fishing boat captain, Robert Wander (1943 – 2019) was celebrated for his artistic sensibilities, close attention to detail, and eclectic taste. Wander’s work reflected his knowledge of classical art and admiration for natural beauty, as he designed many pieces in the form of insects or reptiles, and he often prominently featured mirror-cut or raw stones to highlight their unique clarity characteristics. Working closely with his wife, Deanna Kay Haimoff, Wander’s creations (many signed for his company WINC Creations) were stocked in retailers throughout the country, especially popular in Texas.

Overall Condition: The tourmaline measures approximately 14.75 x 14.15 x 9.25 mm. Light scratching and wear to gold consistent with age and use. A few small areas of loss to satin finish.
