Known for striking design and Swiss craftsmanship, de Grisogono was founded by Fawaz Gruosi in 1993. After working for several years in Saudi Arabia with Harry Winston, Gruosi brought his learned skills into his own firm. De Grisogono is accredited for pioneering the use of black diamonds in fine jewelry, first using them in their 1996 collection. This collection sparked a craze amongst buyers and collectors for black diamonds, which continues to this day. De Grisogono has handled several landmark black diamonds since 1996, including the ‘Spirit of de Grisogono’; the world’s largest cut black diamond.
