Augustin Julia-Plana, born in 1934, was a Spanish jeweler known for his distinctive and unconventional designs. His designs drew inspiration from nature and embraced unconventional materials such as meteorite, maw sit sit, and wood. Following his military service, Julia-Plana attended art school before moving to Switzerland to pursue jewelry. In 1963, Julia-Plana joined Simon Schlegel, a talented jeweler based in Bern, and later became a formal partner in 1968, founding Schlegel & Plana. The duo designed many unique pieces for established jewelry firms across the world, including Tiffany & Co., Aldebert, and Bonebakker. Tragically Julia-Plana passed away early in his career at the age of forty five, but his legacy endures. His talents earned him membership in the Esteemed Diamonds International Academy, and today his pieces are highly collectible, with some of his work held in the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Overall Condition: Light scratching throughout consistent with age and use. Acid test indicates platinum.
